Back pain: Is it merely a physical condition, or a reflection of something deeper within?

Statistics of back pain in USA

An estimated 80% of Americans will experience low back pain at some point in their lives, with nearly half of adults (around 40%) experiencing back pain in a given year.
Back pain from musculoskeletal disorders, arthritis and degenerative disc disorders is the number 1 reason for people to apply for disability, meaning taking break from work and relying on their social security help from the government.
Back pain accounts for more than 264 million missed workdays a year and is the third most common reason for doctor visits.
20 to 40% of back surgeries fail. Failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) occurs when a patient experience continued pain in the back, neck or limbs following a surgery meant to reduce pain.
Lumbar (lower) pain: A 2018 study from the CDC found that 28% of men and 31.6% of women in the U.S. had experienced lower back pain in the previous three months. Lifetime prevalence is estimated at 75–85%.The lower back or lumbar spine is the most common area to experience back pain and next most common site is neck or cervical spine.
1- Why do millions suffer from the same condition?
2-Why do surgeries, medicines, and therapies often fail to bring lasting relief?
3-Could it be that back pain is more than just a physical ailment — perhaps a deeper message from within?

While modern medicine attributes it mainly to aging, poor lifestyle habits, and stress, the true cause may lie far beyond the physical body. Let’s shift focus to the chakras for a moment. For this discussion we will primarily focus on the lower back pain in the region of bottom 3 chakras. From my experience teaching and guiding clients through chakra healing, I’ve observed that nearly 80% have blockages in one or more of the lower three chakras. Lets discover how each of these chakra blockages begin and how it ends up as back pain.

Chakra 1 — The Numb Zone (Muladhara Blockage)

When the root chakra, or Muladhara, is blocked, you may feel numb, disconnected, and chronically exhausted. Many dismiss these signals as simple stress and try to push through — hitting the gym, lifting heavy weights, or even running marathons. But ignoring these early signs only deepens the numbness. Over time, the blockage in the Muladhara can manifest in other ways as deeper emotional and mental struggles such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, or insomnia.
When the body’s cries for grounding go unheard, this energetic imbalance eventually settles into the physical body — often showing up as persistent lower back pain. By the time most people notice it, they’re in their 40s or 50s, once again wrongly attributing the pain to stress, aging, or weight gain, rather than to a deeper energetic root.
Chakra 2 — The Mirror Zone (Swadhisthana Blockage)

When depression or emotional distress lingers for months or even years, you begin to enter what I call the mirror zone. This is the stage where deep, unsettling questions arise:
Is this all there is to my life?
Will I ever feel normal again?
Whose life am I really living?
The numbness and exhaustion from the earlier stage persist, but now they’re joined by an internal tug-of-war — a constant dialogue between two voices. One urges you to get up, take charge, and move forward, while the other wants to retreat into rest, hoping the pain will vanish by morning.
This inner conflict marks the Swadhisthana blockage — a deep, unseen imbalance that others rarely notice with a lingering low back pain felt more often now. To the outside world, you may appear perfectly fine, but within, you’re battling an invisible struggle between who you are and who you wish to be.
Chakra 3 — The Soul Spark (Manipura Blockage)

At this stage, a small flicker of light appears — a dream, a spark, an urge to change something in your life. Perhaps it’s a new job, a salary raise, or the excitement of a new friendship. For a brief moment, you feel alive again. But soon, that energy fades, and you find yourself slipping back into the same numbness and inner conflict.
This is when the Manipura or solar plexus chakra becomes blocked — the center of personal power and motivation. The result often shows up as persistent lower back pain: a dull, nagging ache that’s neither sharp enough to demand immediate attention nor mild enough to ignore. It simply lingers, following you everywhere.
When the lower three chakras remain blocked, the body becomes trapped in a repetitive cycle — from numbness (Muladhara), to inner conflict (Swadhisthana), to fleeting moments of inspiration (Manipura), only to fall back again. This endless loop keeps many people caught in patterns of emotional stagnation and physical pain, unable to recognize the deeper message their body is trying to send. By now most will end up in doctors office for symptoms of unusual weight gain, diabetes or cholesterol issues, gastritis, gall bladder problems and so on.
Real cause of chronic back pain
Those caught in this cycle often live with chronic back pain — a reflection of being energetically stuck in these same three emotional states. Rising above begins to feel impossible, even hopeless. You may not voice feelings of depression or inner conflict, yet your bottom 3 chakras continue to flicker on and off like a bulb struggling to stay lit when there is no power.
In truth, your back pain is a cry for help — a call from your body and soul to awaken. Prolonged numbness, denial, and emotional conflict can drain life force from your lower chakras, leaving them dull, boring and lifeless. When this happens, even moments of love, intimacy, or compassion fail to stir your energy, because the deeper current within you has grown quiet, waiting to be reignited.
Can you believe that nearly 80% of Americans living with back pain experience this very cycle — trapped in constant discomfort, drained of energy, and slowly losing the joy and vitality of life?
So, what’s the real solution? Where to begin?

Chakra healing — because it doesn’t just mask the pain; it addresses the root cause.
True healing always begins from the outside and moves inward, one layer at a time.
You must first nurture the physical layer (Annamaya Kosha) — through proper asanas, diet, and regular exercise. Once the body is strengthened, you can move to the energy layer (Pranamaya Kosha), working with the breath through pranayama and kriya practices to restore energetic flow. The mental layer (Manomaya Kosha) comes next, where meditation, mindful reflection, and engaging with inspiring content — such as my podcasts and blogs — help quiet the mind and bring clarity.
Even focusing on these 3 outer layers can bring remarkable permanent relief from chronic back pain. Only those with deep dedication and discipline can progress further to the Vijnanamaya and Anandamaya Koshas — the layers of higher wisdom and bliss — where transformation unfolds through selfless service with the spirit of Vairagya (detachment).
You might be thinking:
1. How can I confirm if I am blocked in any chakras?
When you enroll in my program, you’ll begin with a chakra quiz designed to identify the degree of blockage — whether mild, moderate, or severe — in each chakra. It will also generate a score for each chakra. From there, we’ll gradually release these blockages, step by step and layer by layer starting from the Muladhara (root) and moving upward through the energy system.
2. “This sounds like a long process.”
Yes, true healing takes time but it can vary from person to person too. Quick fixes like painkillers or steroid injections may numb the symptoms, but they don’t touch the underlying issues — the numbness, exhaustion, or emotional conflict that caused the pain in the first place. If your body has been carrying this pain for years, it deserves patience and care as it realigns to its natural state. Remember, each one of us deserves the chance to return to our true, authentic self. Our body and mind craves for that relief always.
3. “How do I know if this will work?”
Healing requires both faith and commitment. My approach blends spiritual wisdom with scientific understanding — and it has transformed hundreds of lives, including my own. I overcame bipolar depression, freed myself from medication, and have remained pill-free for the past seven years. If it worked for me and so many others, it can work for you too — gently, guiding you back to balance, vitality, the freedom to live pain-free.
